Outcome of Sunshine/National Corridor Meetings and a New Re-Zoning Application by BK&M

August 11, 2025 - As many of our residents know, the City of Springfield is engaging in a policy research and planning project regarding the Sunshine/National corridors. Recently, UHNA representatives, representatives of other neighborhoods, consultants, and City staff convened to work on this project. We were asked what we want to see along the corridors in terms of new buildings, renovations, types of businesses, traffic safety measures, housing, landscaping and quality of life improvements.

The Sunshine-National Corridor Debate and Examining Green Corridors

July 16, 2025 - Neighborhoods not governed by HOAs (and which have busy arterial streets within their borders, are often ripe for a city's efforts to "help them improve." Sometimes parts of neighborhoods or their entirety need improvement for a variety of reasons and other times "improvement" means a city sees an opportunity to potentially generate revenue or create other benefits by allowing development, particularly commercial, within a neighborhood.

Woof Woof! I hear a barking Dog!

May 30, 2025 - When summer arrives we all gratefully spend more time outdoors. Barbecues, driveway and patio get togethers with friends, gardening and swim parties naturally move us outside. Dogs often get moved outside too, and if left out for many hours can create a frustrating disturbance to neighbors.
